Planning

Underwater fog effect 
created and finished 19/11/18

When I was assigned my task my I decided to look at how to do a simple fog effect within unity. I found a video on you tube that told me step by step on how to create a fog effect. Once created I changed the colour of the fog to a dark blue so it would resemble the colour of the sea




Texture research

When I was assigned the task of looking textures I looked at images of a wet sandy beach to get an idea of the kind of thing I was looking for. When i had finished looking for inspiration I went onto the unity asset store and found a free pack of sand textures. This pack had given me a medium range of textures to look through for the floor of our project.

Scrum


Since I joined the team two weeks late. I have only been involved for two of the sprint plans.

Sprint Plan 1


-Implementation of Seabed assets. - 2 Hours.
-Finding & Implementing textures onto the 3d objects - 1 Hour 30 Mins
-Pollution Respawn - 1 Hour
-Improvement of any code - nice to have.
-Completion of UI Display - 1 hour

-Re-build the full iteration and pray unity doesn't decide to delete it again - 2 hours.

During this sprint plan my task was to create an underwater fog effect, During this effect the further away the camera was the darker the environment should be and the closer the camera was the lighter the environment should be.


Sprint Plan 2
-Finish Basic UI Main Game HUD (Text Only) - 30 Minutes
-Pollution Respawn - 1 Hour.
-Actually Build Iteration of Game - 30 Minutes.
-White level will be assembled - 2h

During this sprint plan my task was to find textured resource buildings as the previous buildings we had found were not textured.





Daily meetings

8/11/18

The 8th November was the first meeting for the work based placement however For the first 2 meetings I was not present and my first day into the 2nd year of the course was on the third meeting.

12/11/18

The 12th November was my first meeting with the team. For this meeting i was learning the agile plan of action. During the meeting I was looking at how the team do there daily meetings and how they organize the tasks that were most important.

13/11/18

The 13th November was my 2nd meeting, This meeting was during our class in the afternoon. After catching up with agile methodology and the production plan methods I helped Adrian with the expansion script. This was difficult for the both of us at the beginning however Adrian had completed the expansion script at home.


20/11/2018

The 20th November was my real day of being in the group where I was given a task. This was the week where the group had to focus on the art side of the project.I was given the task to create an underwater fog effect for the environment and to find a wet sandy texture for the levels floor.


21/11/18

The 21st November was a day where we didnt have class so we did our meeting using Discord which is an application which is used for communication. I was present to this meeting and I told the team leader that I was doing the test document for the fog effect and I will get the resource buildings and forward them to the team that one of our team members failed to do.

23/11/2018

The 23rd November was another meeting where we were using discord to do the meeting. The meaning of this meeting was for a regroup and debrief. I had completed the previous tasks that I assigned myself. In this meeting I had been working on the documentation.

25/11/2018

The 25th November was another Discord meeting due to us not being in class. In this meeting I had revised on agile methodology and I will look onto trello to see what tasks are urgently needed to be finished.

26/11/18

The 26th November was a day where we were in class, This is where our meeting was placed. In this meeting I told the team that I will be looking for textures and then asking the team manager what i should do. Due to the previous resource buildings not having textures I had to look for textured resource buildings however due to the building not being the same size the base and resource buildings had to be created.

03/12/18

The 3rd December was a day where we were in class so the meeting was placed there. In this meeting the team were to finish off all documents that were not completed as well as any blog and or evaluation work that was needed to be completed.
